Merge Blast 2048 Boosters: When to Use Swap, Hammer and Shuffle

Every level in Merge Blast 2048 gets harder, and coins are what keep a run alive. The game has three boosters, Swap, Hammer and Shuffle, and each one solves a different problem. This guide explains what they do, what they cost, how to earn more coins and when each one is worth spending.

New to the game? Start with the basic rules and tips to reach 256.

Get Merge Blast 2048 on Google Play (on the store it is listed as 2048 Merge Puzzle: Blast Game).

Booster prices at a glance

  • Swap: 100 coins
  • Hammer: 100 coins
  • Shuffle: 130 coins

These are the prices through Level 4. After that they go up a little each level, so early coins are worth the most.

Swap: connect two groups

Swap lets you pick two tiles and trade their places. The best use is to join two groups of the same number that are separated by one other tile. A single swap can turn two small merges into one big group, and bigger groups multiply the tile more (a group of 5 or more gives a x8 jump).

If you start Swap by mistake, cancel it and you get your coins back.

Use it when: you can see a big group that is one tile away from forming.

Hammer: remove a blocker

Hammer removes one tile of your choice. The tiles above it drop and the board refills from the top. It is the right tool when a single tile with a different number keeps two groups apart, or when a high tile is stuck where it cannot merge.

Use it when: one awkward tile is the only thing standing between you and a large merge.
